Christian Jones returned to ONP Solicitors in late 2025, marking the start of his second chapter with the firm.

His connection to ONP goes back to 2016, when he joined as a trainee property lawyer after completing his law degree. Over the next five years, he built strong foundations in conveyancing, progressing into a full property lawyer role and gaining hands-on experience with a wide range of client transactions.

In 2021, Christian decided it was time to broaden his horizons and explore a different working environment. But four years later, he found himself drawn back to ONP and the Movera brand.

“It was the culture that pulled me back. My previous role was fully remote, and early in your career that can feel quite isolating. I still had friends – and even family – working at ONP, so coming back felt like the right move.”

For Christian, returning wasn’t just about career progression; it was about being part of a collaborative, in-person environment where learning happens naturally. “Conveyancing can be a challenging job. It’s the biggest purchase most people will ever make. Being able to share that responsibility with colleagues, and support clients together, is something I really value. The team here is friendly, supportive, and genuinely invested in doing things well.”

Christian’s return also came with new responsibility. Now a conveyancing manager, he leads one of ONP’s hybrid teams – an opportunity that reflects both his experience and the trust the business places in him.

“At ONP, I’ve always been encouraged to take opportunities. Early in my career I progressed quickly because people pushed me to see what I could achieve. When I came back, the firm had grown and there were even more roles to get involved in. Management have always backed me.”

That culture of encouragement now shapes how Christian leads his own team. “I really enjoy seeing people grow. My team includes trainees, colleagues who are a few months in, and others who’ve been with the firm for a decade. Watching them progress and gain confidence is one of the best parts of my job.”

Christian credits the Movera training programme as a key factor in helping new starters succeed. “The training is structured and consistent, whether someone has conveyancing experience or not. It means everyone begins with the same foundation, and I can focus on helping them develop further.”

For those starting out, Christian’s advice is simple: “Be curious. You learn so much from the people around you. Moving house is stressful for clients, and experienced colleagues have seen every type of case. Their insight is invaluable.”

Having experienced ONP from both sides – leaving and returning – Christian is confident in his recommendation. “I’d definitely recommend ONP. The fact that I came back says a lot, but so does the number of colleagues still here from my first stint. They’re people whose judgement I trust.”

He also highlights the clarity around progression as a real strength. “Career paths at ONP are transparent. For those who want to move forward, it’s clear what you need to do to reach the next step. It’s not hidden away – it’s laid out plainly. In six or twelve months, you can see exactly where you could be.”
